Frédéric Bourla
Orange Cyberdefense Switzerland
Head of Analytics
Description
Frédéric has over 25 years of experience spanning all facets of information security. He began his career in 2000 as a System and Network Engineer for a multinational industrial company, gradually specializing in IT security. After founding his own security company, he had the opportunity to work for Switzerland's first Ethical Hacking company. Later, he played a pivotal role in designing, building, and securing a Tier 4 PKI data center before transitioning into the fields of computer forensics and offensive security. During this period, he conducted numerous penetration tests and red team assessments while advising organizations with stringent security requirements.
Frédéric eventually ventured into software security and DevSecOps, focusing on governmental security solutions, before returning to defensive security. In 2019, he joined SCRT (now Orange Cyberdefense Switzerland), where he currently leads the Analytics division as well as the Incident Response and Forensic Analysis team. One of the rare professionals combining deep technical expertise with strong team management capabilities, Frédéric has successfully bridged the gap between hands-on technical work and leadership roles.
Frédéric has also been a frequent speaker at security conferences (such as ISACA, DEFCON Switzerland, and GISD) as well as an occasional lecturer at universities (in Geneva and Vaud). As an active trainer at Orange Cyberdefense Switzerland, he delivers most of the company’s defensive security courses and contributes to the design of innovative challenges for the renowned CTF contest at Insomni’Hack.
