Abstract
We keep hearing that organizations need to “migrate to PQC”. But what happens when they actually do?
Post-quantum cryptography addresses an important part of the quantum threat, yet the migration itself creates new dependencies, transition states and attack surfaces. Cryptographic libraries can be upgraded while certificates, protocols, applications, hardware, legacy systems, APIs or third-party components remain vulnerable or difficult to replace.
This talk looks at the security architecture behind PQC migration rather than the algorithms themselves. We examine where weaknesses can persist in hybrid environments, how implementation and integration choices can undermine otherwise sound cryptography, and why “quantum-safe” does not necessarily mean resilient.
The focus is practical: the assumptions, architectural gaps and security trade-offs that defenders and attackers will encounter as organizations begin moving from classical cryptography to post-quantum systems.
